Department of Paramedical Science

The department of Paramedical Science places a strong focus on the delivery of quality paramedic care within our contemporary society, taking into account rapid changes within the profession, from increasing medical technology to public awareness of healthcare issues.

To excel in the field and become a confident, autonomous paramedic working within the emergency environment, we focus on blending both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Current, the department offers BSc Paramedical Science which is designed to fill a critically important gap in the services to trauma and acutely ill patients and their families. The programme trains health care professionals at paramedic and medical levels for purposes of meeting the ever increasing medical emergency needs of its consumers both at the national and international levels.

This programme has been developed in collaboration with Kenya Council of Medical Emergency Technicians. The planned collaboration with St. John Ambulance will offer further opportunities for the students, to build on their existing skills and gain a nationally-recognised ambulance qualification.
